Every year the spectacular Tourist Trophy takes place on the Isle of Man (UK). The history of the Tourist Trophy (TT) road race dates back to 1905, firstly the car race, and then, later in 1907, the Tourist Trophy had two statuses: "car" and "motor". The Tourist Trophy is held on a 60.6 km long mountain course. It is probably one of the most spectacular and the most dangerous kinds of motorsports.

Road races are now preserved and are held in Ireland, Belgium and New Zealand. But still the mecca of the Tourist Trophy was and remains the Isle of Man. Competitions are held in the town of Douglas, one of the quietest and most peaceful places on the island, and indeed in the UK. There are still the traditional red English telephone boxes and cattle carts along the bay of the capital, and half the trains are still powered by steam engines.

A motorcycle racer must be brave and judicious. It is the combination of these qualities that will insure against accidents. Courage is needed to constantly evolve and not to be afraid of possible obstacles encountered during training, while prudence will tell which steps will be stupid and unnecessary.
