Husqvarna Factory Racing has confirmed the signing of ISDE 2021 all-time bronze medalist and former 125cc World Youth Enduro Champion Mikael Persson for the 2022 season. Not to mention the Swedish National Championships in 2018, 2019 and 2021, as well as wins at the Gotland Grand National and Novemberkasen.

Mikael will be Husqvarna Motorcycles’ only competitor, just as Andrea Verona and Josep Garcia were the only riders for GASGAS and KTM respectively in 2021, which in turn means that KTM Group has riders competing in each of the main classes (E1, E2 and E3). Moving on from the 250 four-stroke engine he was so successful with last year, Mikael will be competing in the Enduro3 class on a TE 300i.

Mikael is very, very excited to be back in the EnduroGP World Championship, especially with Husqvarna. It’s an honor for the Swede to officially compete for Husqvarna.

At the start of the New Year he went to Southern Europe to get familiar with the new bike, and since then he’s just been riding and training. Spent many hours on the bike, and after getting back on the 2-stroke engine and becoming a full-time rider again, it’s going well.
